I want to plan a vacation to the greek island either Oia Santorini or to the island skopelos?

I want to go to either of these locations but as for hotels I want to stay somewhere that i feel more like a resident than a tourist. Any suggestions? Also which airport would i fly into and how would I go about making the travel plans; isnt there a ferry i have to take to the inital island? any help is appreciated
