is food allowed to be taken to rarotonga?

as in would customs allow it? what foods are definitely not allowed? was thinking of peanut butter and soups. what else is allowed?
what food IS allowed?
kewl thx dear. I’m gonna call the Cook island embasst to confirm. Wonder if an opened peanut butter bottle is ok.

Importing plant/animal/associated products is strictly prohibited. I’m not too sure about peanut butter or soup, but I would contact the Rarotonga International Airport to inquire with Customs.

Remember that when you leave Rarotonga you will need to pay a NZ $25 or $10 (under 12 years, infants are free) departure tax.

EDIT: I’ve looked into it further and it seems that most processed, packaged food is allowed into Rarotonga as long as it is declared. So sealed, processed biscuits/cookies, cereal, chocolates/candies, soup packets, pasta packets etc. The main thing is don’t take plant (including fruit/veges), animal or associated products. Customs may be a little iffy on nuts, but processed, packaged peanut butter should be fine. But remember that ANYTHING you eat is considered food, therefore you must declare it. Customs are usually quite tough on undeclared food.
