Rarotonga, Cook islands vs Rangiroa, Society Islands ?

Trying to choose a cruise to tahiti. The 2 itineraries I am considering do the usual Tahiti stops as well as EITHER Rarotonga and Aitutaki Atoll in the Cook Islands or Rangiroa in the society islands and Fakarava in the Tuamotu Islands. Any help choosing would be appreciated. Also, is there a “BEST” time to visit that area of the world?

Sounds great, I wish you a beautiful cruise, will you making a stop in St Regis Bora Bora? But to answer your question, both are great, but if you had to choose, I say Rarotonga. No best time, other than rain, weather is beautiful all year.
