Why are Polynesian/Pacific Islanders?
Culture and current events rarely mentioned like for example the islands of Easter is, tahiti,Bora Bora,Seychelles,Solomon islands, Fiji and others ever mentioned. Some people don’t even know that they exist.
Why is it that they don’t get much news and where can I find more information on these intriguing islands?

I am part Fijian and Polynesian and I was born in Fiji. My mum is european, fijian and polynesian mixed.
Well, the pacific islands are quite peaceful countries. They usually do not make the news because they do not do anything that is significant on the world scale. They do not get into wars etc.
Even you do not hear much about Hawaii. Most islands are just known for tourist destinations by most westerners. A place to holiday.
I live here in New Zealand so we do see news on the islands. We are in south pacific.
I like to get into all my different ethnic backgrounds so I look up pasifica news and events like dances etc on you tube.
Just look up the internet and type in the countries. Look on YOU TUBE for videos etc.
I am very proud to be part Islander. We were once great navigators of the sea!!
