Is the 90.00 insurance per person fee for a vacation package with hotels.com a rip off.?
yes, we tried to do so with trip insurance for a trip for 4. 4 tickets, 2 rooms, 6 day vacation totaling 3500 to Cabo. Were told that trip insurance didn’t cover the tickets as they are non-refundable and non-transferable (to another person), all we could do was have individual credit for a ticket. We were told that while we could get most money back, it would cost us 600 of the money we would get back to cancel the rooms, so basically, out of the 3500, we were going to get about 1400 back and 4 plane tickets…instead we decided it would be cheaper to move different things around at home and take the trip, never buying trip insurance again
